Registration Location – Welcome Reception
Registration will open at 5:15pm on Sunday, July 13 outside the Welcome Reception located at the east lawn plaza (Outside the Hayes Ballroom). Come meet your fellow attendees at the reception and enjoy light bites and an assortment of wine, beer & cocktails from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Each attendee will receive 2 drink tickets included with their registration/name badge. Please pick up at the registration desk located inside the Ballroom Foyer.

We ask that all workshop attendees keep their name badge on at all times at the workshop so that staff can tell that they are part of the group for sessions & receptions.

Weekdays: Registration will be located at the Hayes Ballroom Foyer. Registration will be open on Sunday from 5:30-7pm, on Monday – Wednesday at 7:30am and on Thursday & Friday at 8am.

Dolce Hayes Mansion provides shuttle airport transportation to and from San Jose Mineta Airport with advance reservations for $35 per person each way. To arrange for your airport pick up please call Guest Services at (408) 226-3200

Complimentary Parking is available at Dolce Hayes Mansion.

Arrive Early on Monday
Early arrival will allow time for parking if necessary and walking to the ballroom, picking up your badge and having a continental breakfast in the Hayes Ballroom Foyer.

Companion Dining
Breaks located in the Ballroom Foyer and lunches at the Silver Creek Dining Room are included for workshop attendees only (please wear your name badge to indicate that you are a paid attendee). If any workshop companions would like to join the weekday lunch located in the Silver Creek Dining Room, they are welcome to purchase lunch there or charge it to their room. Please notify the host/server upon arrival.

Daily Breakfast is also available for purchase from 6:30am – 10am in the Silver Creek Dining Room from Mon - Sat.

Internet Access
Dolce Hayes Mansion is equipped with complimentary wireless network. If you plan to bring a laptop, please note that there are few power outlets within the facility; we recommend bringing extra batteries.

Weather / Attire
The weather for San Jose at this time of year is temperate with an average daytime temperature high of 82°F and an average evening low temperature of 58°F. As this event will occur both inside an air-conditioned facility and outdoors in the elements, we strongly encourage dressing in layers. We also recommend comfortable walking shoes. Sunglasses, sunscreen, umbrellas and hats are optional, useful items.

Last Minute Lodging
Please Contact Brigid at bneff@stanford.edu or 650-736-0048 to check if we have any last minute rooms in our Dolce Hayes Hotel Block.

For other last minute reservations, we recommend the Four Points by Sheraton San Jose, Silicon Valley (not the Downtown location) located 4 miles south of Dolce Hayes. A car will be required to travel to the workshop. Shuttle transportation is not provided.

Events & Sightseeing

AAC Banquet Dinner – Weds, July 16 (6:30pm – 9:30pm)
Included in your workshop fee is a banquet dinner at the Computer History Museum located at 1401 N. Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA 94043.

Complimentary shuttle transportation will depart from the Dolce Hayes main entrance at 6pm sharp. Shuttles will return from CHM starting at 9:30pm.

SLAC Tour – Thursday July 17 (1pm – 5pm) FULL
There will be a complimentary, docent-guided, 90-minute tour of SLAC on Wednesday, September 11 for those who have RSVP’d (tour is now full). Tour highlights include a visit to FACET, Sector 20 LINAC and NLCTA, LCLS MEC. A sign-up sheet will be available on-site at registration for attendees to sign up for the WAITLIST on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees will be notified by cell phone/email if space opens up. The shuttle will depart Dolce Hayes Mansion main entrance at 1:00pm on Thursday. More information on SLAC can be found here.
